Riley POV Having Luca back in the house changed everything. The children noticed it. Martha noticed it. Even I noticed it. The mansion felt more controlled when he was around. Quieter. Stricter. Far less fun. The twins no longer ran through the hallways screaming at the top of their lungs. Sophie stopped leaving her dolls on the staircase. Nobody placed fake insects inside my shoes or poured glitter over my breakfast. They behaved like perfect children. And it was making me look like a liar. “I am telling you, they were hanging from the chandelier yesterday,” I said. Luca looked up from his coffee. We were sitting at the breakfast table while the children ate quietly. Far too quietly. “Who was hanging from the chandelier?” “The twins.” Leo lifted his head. “We were not.”
