Luca POV I woke before Riley. For several seconds, I did not move. Morning light entered through the partly open balcony doors and spread across the bed. The sound of the waves reached the room in a slow, steady rhythm. Riley lay against me with one hand resting near my chest. Her hair covered part of her face. Her breathing remained soft and even. One of her legs was tangled with mine beneath the sheet, and my good arm rested around her waist. The position was not comfortable for my injured shoulder. I did not care. I watched her sleep.
