I woke before dawn with the unsettling sensation that someone had reached into my aura and brushed the inside of my mind with cold fingers. Not a nightmare. Not a memory. Something outside me. Something real. My wolf rose instantly, hackles up, teeth bared, pacing beneath my skin with a low, vibrating growl. The hair on my arms stood straight. A chill ran all the way down my spine. I sat up slowly, pulse thudding in my throat. The room was dark except for the faint gray light of early morning spilling through the curtains. Everything looked normal. Too normal.
