I hate having to stand in the corner and wait till I can go and comfort my mate, but it is the way things must be, until she is old enough for me to claim as mine. But that doesn’t mean I am not grateful for every chance that I have to spend time with her, when her parents could have banned me entirely from being anywhere near her.
The door got closed as everyone had left the room. I made quick strides across the room to get to Seraphina. She was sitting on the sofa, looking down at her hands. I knelt down in front of her. “Seraphina, please look at me.”
