Chapter Eight : Isolated
Kiara’s POV
The order came at dawn the same day
“You will no longer eat in the main hall.”
The maid delivering my breakfast wouldn’t meet my eyes. She placed the tray on the small table near my bed and stepped back as if I carried something contagious.
“Effective immediately,” she added quickly. “Alpha’s command.”
I nodded. “Thank you.”She fled the room.
I stared at the food for a long moment before pushing it away. My appetite had vanished days ago. Isolation wasn’t new to me, but this felt different.
When I stepped onto the hallway later that morning, the difference was immediate. Wolves parted around me like water around stone. Conversations died instantly . They avoided me like I’m some plague .
