I felt humiliated as the pack house watched me pack my stuff .
No one said a word as I folded my few belongings into the small bag I’d been given. Everything I owned fit into my hands too easily.
My mother stood in the doorway.
“Kaira,” she said softly.
I didn’t look at her right away. If I did, I might break.
“You’re being sent away,” she continued. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t want to stress you ” I replied.
She stepped closer, lowering her voice. “This isn’t normal. Alpha Liam is being too harsh .”
