Hector Hector shook his head. He didn’t believe that for a second, not after all that had gone down inside this pack, not after hearing what the two other she-wolves who were supposed to be out there preventing this very thing from happening had been fired and not reported it because the twins had told them not to concern themselves with her. “You mean you just didn’t care to watch her, guard her as you were f*****g hired to do, like Sonia and Lidia, because the twins told you not to concern yourself with her, right?” he bit out angrily “who would want her. You bloody stay right there. Graham is on his way, he’ll interrogate you in full. Right down to how far away you were from her when she got kidn*pped, a few meters or a f*****g block away.” He rapped out, and the line clicked closed. He knew her enhanced sight and smell would be able to pick up everything she’d said even from a full block away if there was a clear line of sight. He also knew where the Auction House was, and that the walk to the café Jessica had lunch in every day was wide, like four or five meters wide, so there was plenty to view. He turned and looked at his two sons on the shaming post. “See what happens when an Alpha and Beta don’t actively protect their Mate, I told you right from the beginning she would need a protection detail, organized it myself with your other father and your mother. “Only what did you two do, not report that two of the detail were fired from the job and didn’t replace them either.” He shook his head and thought about it. Eve had said those rogues looked to be just sitting around waiting for her. He closed his eyes, “This was planned and likely for a long time. They were sitting in wait for her. That means they have trailed and tracked her over time, seen that she eats at the same place every day. Sat and watched her because, unlike you two, they saw what was behind the frumpy oversized clothing, a pretty Luna. “That sat and watched to see where other wolves of her pack ate where she ate, walked the path she walked likely from where she parked her car as well, looking for the opportune moment to snatch her. “Likely they’ve been in that auction house themselves and scented out any other wolves in there as well. When did Sonia and Lidia get fired? That was likely the moment those preparing to steal, in your opinion a she-wolf not worth stealing.” “Um, like a month ago,” Marcus told him. “Right so, for the past month they’ve seen a drop in her safety detail, to just one wolf and one that, in all I’ve learned today, likely pays her no attention whatsoever. So is of no concern to them. Snatching a wolf-less Luna is as easy as taking a human girl. She has no hope of fighting them off or even defending herself against the smallest of touches.” “She’s faking it,” Gregory yelled at his father. “Doing this on purpose, I tell you.” Hector looked down at him and shook his head even as Stephanie snarled at him, “Maybe you f*****g deserve it, you f*****g bastard. If she is faking it, I give her my blessing. To make you suffer all night long.” She shot over there and tried to kick him; Hector snagged her at the last minute and hauled her back and away from him. “Even with all you just felt, all you just heard, a call come in from Eve herself, about watching Jessica get taken and still your blaming her instead of yourself for pulling her security detail off her and allowing this to happen.” “That b***h is just out to humiliate me, nothing more. It’s all she has ever done since we scented her out.” Gregory yelled. “Look at me on this shaming post, humiliated because of her words. My own mother humiliated me for that bitch.” She snarled. Hector saw it now, Gregory hated Jessica. It wasn’t just dislike, it was actual hatred and that was why he didn’t care about what he said or did, how he made her feel. His eyes moved to Marcus, who was just sitting there staring at his twin. He didn’t look happy at all, but he wasn’t on a rant about Jessica humiliating him. He had a better temperament, it seemed. Not that it was going to save him. “You’re a complete fool, and we’ll see about her being kidn*pped, because if she was… in a few hours when she gets to her destination, just what do you think is going to happen to her?” Hector sighed it wasn’t a nice thought but with them having over and hours head start and now knowing who was watching her, that they were rogues, they could take her anyone, could be in the depths of a wilderness within an hour, and by the time they picked up the trail and tracked it that could be another 30 or 40 minutes. They were still going to be behind, so she’d reach that destination an hour or more before they got to her and that was plenty of time to brutalize her. Hell for all they know, they could scent-mask her and themselves and change vehicles in the middle of bloody nowhere and that was it. The lead was cold and they’d never find her. He saw Gregory roll his eyes, “She’ll never go through with it, I’ll punish her when she comes home. Give it to her worse than they did.” Even Marcus gasped at his own brother's words, and he let go over Stephanie when she roared in fury. Only then did Gregory seem to understand he shouldn’t have said it. All Hector said to his Mate was, “Leave him alive.” “The hell I will,” she roared as she shot off to beat the hell out of him, “He’s no son of mine anymore.” she screamed as a fist connected to Gregory’s face. ‘So, he’ll feel it, everything that’s done to her if she was taken, as Eve states.’ Hector shot down the mind-link to his furious mate even as she laid into him for all out there to see the seriousness of their own situations. She stepped back a few minutes later for him to see the bloodied, already bruising, swollen face of the boy that was once their son. She stood right there and glared down at him, “I reject you as my son. We are not kin anymore.” She snarled at him and snapped a foot into his leg. He roared in pain as Hector heard it break under the force she used. He stepped over and placed gentle hands on her and tugged her back away from him before she did kill him. “He can suffer what his Mate suffers, seeing as he has not one iota of care for her, not even for the wolf-less she-wolf she was born as. I see now he’s turned bad and can’t be saved.” His eyes met Marcus. The boy was quiet for a long time, “Release me to hunt for her myself. She is my Mate and I caused this. Let me find her.” “No.” Hector shook his head. “I honestly don’t trust you anymore than him right now,” he pointed to Gregory. “You two harmed your own Goddess-Gifted Mate, and now you will likely suffer the consequences of your own neglect. It is what you deserve. For as long as she is alive and bound to you, I will keep you alive to feel all you’ve let happen to her. That will be your punishment from here on out.” “Father, please. I never harmed her, never cheated or caused her pains of betrayal,” Marcus implored him. “Never harmed her?” Hector shook his head. “Your marking and mating of her. Did that harm her? Your using her body uncaringly to sate your own needs without her accepting of it, did that harm her? You never once cared to please her and show her the slightest bit of pleasure. Did that harm her? “You say you never harmed her, but you harmed her all the time, likely every time you touched her. Then there’s the emotional harm as well, all the years of verbal abuse from you, all the years of you not defending her and letting the pack speak so abhorrently about her, your condoning of it, laughing at her. Is that not considered harming her?” Hector shook his head. “Every single one of you out here,” he looked over them all. “Harmed Jessica, bullied her and caused her emotional pain that will linger forever. Words can not be taken back, or unheard once they are spoken. Right now, Jessica is presumed kidn*pped by rogues and, with all that has been done to her, said about her inside this pack? Do you think she believes that someone is going to come for her, to save her? “Or do you all think she’s right now bound by silver cuffs, knowing her fate is sealed, that no one cares about her enough to come save her. She certainly isn’t going to think her Mates will come for her now, is she? “Jessica is likely laying there in the back of some dark, dirty van being leered at and verbally taunted about what is going to happen to her when they get to their destination, likely praying for a quick death, because that is all that she can see coming for herself; being brutalized to death. He turned and looked at Marcus. “Put yourself in her shoes right now, do you even think she believes Eve would have reported her missing? I don’t think she would think that. Likely laying there hoping she doesn’t survive the night at all, “Why, because she probably also thinks if she’s dumped alive somewhere and manages to get human help, recovers from her injuries and returns to the pack...” he pointed to Gregory. “What he said will happen to her. “That her own Mates would punish her worse than what she got out there from the rogues, because you had to suffer the pains of betrayal, because she was taken to against her will. It’s not her fault, but I’d be willing to bet she knows exactly what Gregory is thinking about how he will humiliate her back, even though she did nothing wrong. “It is very likely she knows you two better than you know yourselves, because she’s always suffered at your hands. Understands Gregory’s cruelty in full, you might not touch others, Marcus, but she might not know that. If you didn’t know he was touching others, then she might not know which one of you it was. Likely thinks it is both of you. “This, right here and now, is the consequence of you not accepting, loving and cherishing what the Goddess gifted to you. It is likely Selena’s way of punishing you, nothing will save you from her wrath.”
