I sat on the bike for a moment before going in.
The day had been long and productive and everything that needed to be in motion was in motion. Kane had the west side house tonight. Dex had rotated off Reyes. Ryder was at the warehouse. The pieces were placed and all that was left was to let them do what they were there to do.
I cut the engine and went inside.
The elevator opened on my floor and I came out into the hallway and her light was on under the door. I went into my own apartment and set my keys down and stood in the kitchen and let the day come down from me the way it needed to.
