(Reese) The SUVs rolled through the compound gates, and everything outside the windows changed. The city disappeared behind fencing, cameras, and men who looked like they already knew something serious was happening. Motorcycles lined one side of the yard beside trucks and black cars that made the place feel less like a clubhouse and more like a guarded base. I sat still beside Noah and tried not to let him see how much I was taking in. Kane stopped near the front of a long building with lights glowing across the porch.
