I woke up to what felt like a hundred missed calls.
Layla. Jamie. My assistant. My parents.
My head throbbed as I sat up. I had slept so deeply that I hadn’t heard my phone ring once.
Due to the time difference, I figured Layla might be asleep, so I decided to wait for a while before calling her. I dialed Jamie’s number first, maybe I could get a clue about why my parents were blowing up my phone.
“Hey, I was even coming over to check up on you since you weren’t answering your phone,” Jamie said as she answered the call.
“I was sleeping. What is going on?”
Jamie gasped dramatically. “For so many hours?” She asked. I could tell she was on the road because of the sound of car horns. “You got your assistant pregnant?”
