It was almost the end of the day, but Kaiden still hadn’t said a word to me. I figured he was upset and was giving me the silent treatment.
He’d skipped two meetings we were both supposed to attend, delegating one to his assistant and rescheduling the other one last minute.
I wasn’t stupid, I knew what he was doing.
But maybe it was for the best. He had finally gotten the message.
Soon enough, it was time to leave the office.
I gathered my things before making my way to the door. But just as I opened the door, I stopped in my tracks.
Kaiden was standing there.
He seemed disheveled and looked like he was contemplating whether to knock on the door or not. As our eyes met, he pulled back his shoulder to improve his posture.
