I couldn't stop thinking about Ethan asking questions while someone recorded them for Charles. He had wanted to know about his father, and Laura had somehow learned enough to report it. Amelia had been answering those questions alone while I was in New York believing she had built another life with Liam. Charles had known more about my son than I had.
"How would Laura know Ethan was asking?"
Daniel went back through the pages. "The report doesn't explain that." He checked the photographs and notes surrounding it. "There are several observations from the park and outside his daycare."
Amelia released my hand and stood. "Watching from outside wouldn't tell her what Ethan asked me at home." She looked troubled by the thought. "Someone had to hear him."
