I stared at the photograph again before handing the phone back to Daniel. We had spent days connecting Charles to Rebecca through payments, events, and people around Emilia. This was different because there was no company between them and no old record to explain away. Charles had been standing beside Rebecca two nights ago.
"Can we take this to the police?"
"Yes."
"Do it."
Daniel sent the images to the officers handling the case. The photographs didn't prove Charles had ordered anyone to watch Amelia or Ethan, but they gave the police a reason to question him about Rebecca. They also proved Rebecca hadn't disappeared from Charles's life. I wanted to hear what Charles said when someone put that picture in front of him.
I went to find Amelia and found her sitting with Etha
