My face morphed into a more serious one, and I leaned backwards to let him know that I was firm on it. Besides, it couldn’t be called an affair, since John’s greedy act couldn’t be called a marriage either.
A marriage was between two willing parties, who wanted to spend forever together, and an affair was what happened when one or both lovers had a legitimate lover.
