“Given the situation, Gary probably shouldn’t go back to Hirsch Group anyway.”
"I hadn’t looked deeply into what had happened between Gary and Thomas when Gary left."
"If Thomas were to suddenly call him back now, Gary might not return. That’s what I believed, at least."
Jaxen explained.
“Whether it’s appropriate, do it first. We’ll talk about the rest afterward.”
I wasn’t interested in listening to him argue his way out of it.
I wanted to see what he actually did.
“Where’s your phone?”
“In the study.”
“Then let’s go to the study.”
Before he could say anything else, I grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him toward the study.
A few minutes later, Jaxen was standing there with his phone in his hand while I watched him make the call.
