I’d spent all that time worrying that Jaxen had done something terrible to Gary.
Turns out, whatever Gary had suffered was nothing compared to what I’d gone through.
I was the real i***t here.
Jaxen really did know how to treat people differently depending on who they were.
He’d never been afraid to go after me because I didn’t have anyone powerful standing behind me.
And the worst part was that Regina had gotten dragged into it with me.
Even the older members of his own family weren’t safe from him when he wanted something.
And I was supposed to believe he’d go easy on me?
