I almost immediately stayed home for the morning.
It had been ages since Scarlett and I had spent any real time alone together, and today seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Besides, maybe if I spent more time with her, her mood would gradually improve.
Maybe she’d even start treating me a little better.
Unfortunately, I was giving myself too much credit.
Even though Scarlett wasn’t going anywhere, she made absolutely no effort to spend time with me.
She might as well have been some sheltered young lady from centuries ago, spending all day shut away in her private chambers.
She barely left her room, and she’d even locked the door from the inside.
I knew she was in a bad mood. Knocking on her door would only make her more annoyed with me.
