Ryan immediately responded when he caught the silent request in my eyes.
“Grandpa, bringing Scarlett’s family here to meet you isn’t really the right way to do it. If we’re actually talking about marriage, my family should be the ones meeting hers first.”
Jonathan smacked his forehead.
“Right! Look at me. I was so focused on meeting Scarlett’s family that I forgot how this is supposed to work.”
Ryan cleared his throat. “Grandpa, there’s something I haven’t told you.”

“Scarlett’s biological parents passed away years ago.”
