“You’re not telling me you and your ex-husband have been living under the same roof, and something happened between you two, are you? Are you pregnant?”
Delaney’s imagination had clearly gone completely off the rails.
I stared at my phone. “Have you lost your mind? Or have I? What kind of terrifying question is that?”
“Sorry! Forget I said it.” She paused. “Then what happened?”
“Remember that side job I told you about?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, two hours ago, it almost stopped being a side job.”
I felt a little embarrassed saying it out loud. “My boss hinted he likes me.”
Delaney immediately started laughing. “When you first told me about that side job, I was worried someone had talked you into some stupid scam. I didn’t expect it to turn into your love life.”
