Did I like Ryan Parker?
As an employee, yes. He was generous. He was fair. He was the boss anyone would be lucky to have.
But if I stopped looking at him as my employer and looked at him simply as a woman… I couldn’t deny that I admired him.
Did that mean I liked him? I didn’t know.
Since my divorce from Jaxen, I hadn’t felt attracted to another man.
So saying I didn’t like Ryan wasn’t exactly accurate either.
I just didn’t understand what I felt about him yet.
Delaney waited a few seconds before asking, “You don’t want to quit because you and your boss like each other?”
“Not that serious.” I rested my chin in my hand.
“The biggest reason I don’t want to quit is still what I told you. I don’t want Jaxen controlling every part of my life.”
