After dinner with Delaney, I drove straight to the Hale family estate.
It took me the entire afternoon to pack up my belongings.
Once everything was finally ready, I picked up my phone and texted Jaxen.
Scarlett: Bring a truck to the estate and pick me up.
Whether he was deliberately trying to take advantage of me or his head injury had left him caught between loving me and hating me, he was still the first person I’d thought of while I was fuming.
After sending the message, I gave him five minutes to respond.
