Cheated? I sat still, staring back at Mrs. Carter, who was staring back at me.
I was foaming from within, and I badly wanted to grab the glass before me and slam it on his head, but instead, I composed myself and reminded myself that anger doesn’t mean wins.
“It is not true,” I said calmly, though I was still raging inside.
Mrs. Carter’s brows pulled together, then she said, “So you are saying…” She placed her elbow on the table and leaned forward.
“So you are saying that Leo is lying?”
“I am saying that?” I placed the cutleries in my hands aside.
“No. I am saying that he is the one cheating and not me.”
“What proof do you have?” Leo asked in rage, and a scoff almost slipped past my lips.
“The evidence is all over the media, Leo. I have no need to prove.”
