Mason looked up from where he sat beside her desk.
His laptop rested open in front of him, its screen glowing softly in the dim room. Beside it sat a small black medical bag, neatly unzipped.
Sage stopped in the doorway and for a second neither of them spoke.
Mason was the first to break the silence.
"I was beginning to think you'd gone for another walk."
"I needed some air. What are you doing here?"
His eyes dropped briefly to the medical bag.
"I came to check on you." He stated and a small sigh escaped her.

"I know." He stood, rubbing one hand across the back of his neck. "You've already said you're fine."
