Caspian I adjusted my glasses, peering over the rim as I pored over the business files scattered across my desk. The fluorescent lights hummed overhead, casting an eerie glow over the room. Just as I was getting engrossed in the financial reports, a knock at the door broke the silence. "Come in," I called out, my voice firm but inviting. Marcel walked in, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "You know you don't have to knock, Marcel," I said, shaking my head. He chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm just trying to be professional, boss," he said, his voice laced with sarcasm. "You know some supervisors came over today."
