I wasn’t looking forward to going to Rafael’s place.
But I had to anyway.
I took a deep breath and pressed the door code. As soon as it opened, I saw Nikolai standing in front of me. I froze.
Did he want to break up with me in the doorway? Was I not even allowed to enter the house?
“Hi,” he said.
I arched an eyebrow. I couldn’t recall if Nikolai had ever told me hi before. “Uh, hi?”
He stared at me. I stared at him. Then he cleared his throat and stepped aside. “Come in.”
