The next few days were uneventful and not what I expected at all.
Nikolai and Rafael didn’t ask any questions anymore, which made me wonder whether or not they had seen the flash drive. I didn’t want to ask because asking would be putting myself and my agency in jeopardy.
We went about our days as usual and before I knew it, it was time for the trip that Rafael spent several nights planning.
I hadn’t cleared up my schedule. Amidst everything that was happening, that was the last thing on my mind, but they didn’t want to hear it.
Rafael and Nikolai packed my suitcase for me and almost dragged me downstairs. I had to close my laptop and put it inside my bag so I could work on anything I’d forgotten to work on while we were there.
