Alpha Damien glanced sideways at her, remembering how she used to call him "Damien" in that sweet voice when they were kids.
Even after they got engaged, she still said his name like some princess in a fairy tale. Back then, he hadn't minded at all.
But now, hearing her use that fake tone made his wolf restless.
"Damien," she began, her voice shaking, "What I mean is... once we're mated, I'll be your Luna. I won't be some pack decoration, and I won't share you with other she-wolves. We should be true mates, bonded for life. I deserve at least basic respect. If..."
She hesitated suddenly, fear gripping her.
