Alpha Damien really left. Each step down those stairs felt like forever.
His wolf whined with every step, hoping to hear her call his name.
But silence. Nothing at all.
Several times, he thought he heard her voice, but when he turned, that door stayed shut tight.
Tomorrow was his mating ceremony with Sally.
He should feel excited, but he felt empty inside.
Despite Sally carrying his child, he felt nothing for the baby. Nothing at all.
He'd promised himself he wouldn't bother Aria anymore.
He even moved her to the villa to keep himself away. Yet here he was.
With tomorrow's ceremony coming, his heart pulled him to her.
