Alessandro was about to take a sip of wine from his glass when an earthquake began to shake everything around him. Glasses tipped over, some paintings fell, and a few vases tipped over and broke.
“What's going on?"
Everyone asked, bewildered, since they didn't know what was happening. When everything calmed down, Alessandro asked everyone if they were okay.
The children were frightened, and Cassian had spilled wine on his shirt, but since no one was hurt, they nodded.
Cassian said, “Looks like we're all okay."
Alessandro hurried to the balcony to see what had happened.
Kiara asked Abril, “Did you feel it?"
“Yes."
Even though she wasn't nearby, Abril could sense that something dark and malevolent had caused the tremor.
