Looking at the meal created for tonight’s dinner, I wait in a corner while Mia orders her staff about. Many had watched me work alongside the Head Chef, their curious glances making it hard to focus—I still wasn’t used to being the center of everyone’s attention.
Once everything had been prepped, Mia sent me to the corner to relax and hide away, noticing something else was bothering me. She had promised that once the meal had been served, she would come to join me with some food, and we could talk while Kendrik and Victoria basked in their pack’s welcome-back party.
“Goddess, some days I want to retire and just relax,” Mia groans as she leans against the wall next to me. Her team places the food onto serving platters and hands them to other omegas to bring to the pack dining hall.
