The titan moved faster than anything that size should have been able to move. Each step shook the valley like a pounding drumbeat from the end of the world. Snow blasted upward in clouds that blinded the horizon. Entire trees tore from their roots under the shockwaves of its strides.
The skeletal monster descended the broken cliff with a thunderous quake, landing on the valley floor in a spray of fractured stone. The ground heaved beneath our feet. I stumbled and Jax steadied me instantly, grabbing my hand as he pulled me into motion.
“Run,” he said. “Do not stop.”
Not even half a second behind us, the titan took another step. Its foot came down with a boom that sent cracks spidering through the earth. The shock nearly knocked me off my feet again.
