I followed Gold into his office, watching him as he poured himself and me a glass of whiskey. He handed one to me. I stared down at the glass that now sat in my hand, wondering what the hell he was going to say to me. My gaze drifted back up to Gold, as he studied me incredulously. “Are you serious about this? You are not just doing this so we can catch him and mostly likely kill him.”
“Gold, truthfully, I want him caught and killed so she will be safe. I would have waited a year or two before coming into this office, and asking for your blessing.
