Gold returned with his lawyer in tow. I stood up, as Gold said, “This is Katie, a woman who is like a daughter to me. She needs a divorce from her husband. Katie, this is my lawyer, Mr Davin.”
“Mr Davin, pleased to meet you,” I said, extending my hand to him.
He stepped forward and shook my hand, “Pleasure to meet you too, Katie. You can call me Davin. I keep telling this one too, but he is too set in his ways.”
“Sounds like my dad. It’s good to see you, Davin,” Queenie called out to him.
Davin looked at Queenie and said, “Olivia, it is good to see you. How is baby number 2 coming along?”
“He is getting very big. I don’t think it will be long before he is ready to come into this world,” Queenie replied.
