I moved closer to Mom to see what Julian was showing her. Camille's phone displayed messages supposedly exchanged between Daniel and me. My name and photograph appeared above the conversation, but I had never written those words. I looked at Camille, who seemed pleased with herself.

"Your photograph is right there," Camille said.
