Manfrid's POV. It was just before sunrise when we finally neared the compound. My guys were anxious and ready for battle. They wanted revenge. They wanted blood. I wanted Emma. The woods were quiet, but the fact that we had previously burnt them down meant that the trees no longer provided us with any cover. We were exposed and out in the open.
