Morning sunlight crept through the thin blinds, settling in warm stripes across the foot of Celia’s hospital bed. She blinked slowly, her body still heavy with medication and healing, but the world no longer felt blurred around the edges. Ariadne stirred in her mind, offering her a soft greeting.
