“So he knows for sure that Lucas and Celia are here,” Jake said from his seat behind the desk. “He is clearly assuming that Landon and Aurelia are here as well.”
“Not as dumb as he looks then,” Russ muttered as he pushed his red curls away from his forehead.
“Unfortunately, he’s not dumb at at all,” Landon replied. “He’s very calculating.”
“What did he say?” Lucas asked. He twisted his hands together, staring at the plush carpet like it might give him an escape.
“He’s demanding that we turn you and your brother over, along with Celia,” Jake answered, lacing his fingers together. “And he wants Aurelia returned to her father at Evergreen Hollows.”
