When we returned to the Academy on Sunday afternoon, Alpha Nevaeh wasn’t on campus. Instead of waiting to make it official, Wendy and I collected the last of her belongings and carried them to my room. We took an hour to rearrange the room, knowing that this space will now be ours for the rest of the year and possibly for several years if we decide to remain on campus even after I graduate this year.
Once we were settled, we got to work. We stopped only long enough to go to the cafeteria to get dinner, then return to our room to continue working.
