Chapter 97 The following morning, Duncan and Commander Magnus left the palace at daybreak, heading for the private airstrip. When Duncan had tapped Magnus for an assignment first thing in the morning, Magnus originally believed the King had changed his mind about sidelining him. Unfortunately, he was sorely mistaken. “Sire, where are we going?” Magnus asked as he took the driver’s seat of the King's private car. “The airstrip.” “Sir?” “The investigator I’ve hired will be landing shortly,” Duncan stated. “Landing? The investigator is an outsider?” Magnus asked, his voice thick with incredulity. “Yes,” Duncan answered flatly. “But, Your Majesty, why would you entrust an internal matter to an outsider?” “Because an outsider can conduct this investigation without bias,” Duncan replied
