"So, Duncan, explain the situation," Laura said as soon as they were on the road.
"Several people in my Kingdom, Magnus included, found surveillance devices in their private quarters. Two guards, the commander here, and now his daughter."
"Who are the other two guards?" Laura asked, her fingers already flying across her phone screen.
"Two high-ranking officers," Duncan answered. "Arden, Magnus’s second-in-command, and Thorne, who also happens to be Magnus’s brother-in-law."
"Wait..." Laura looked up, catching Magnus’s eye in the rearview mirror. "You, your daughter, and your brother-in-law all found devices in your homes?"
"Yes, ma’am," Magnus answered, his focus remaining fixed on the road.
