Back at the packhouse, Poseidon and the other bounty hunters had just wrapped up their monthly training session—which came on top of an extra round of hand-to-hand spar sessions with Arden to help prepare her for Sam’s team tryouts.
She had been training one-on-one with Sam for the past week, and while Arden definitely showed promise, promise alone wasn't going to cut it. Sam made it clear that she needed to reach a very specific combat standard before even being considered for a spot on the squad.
