“Dude! She just talked!” Poseidon shouted, pointing a dramatic finger at Arden’s Phoenix.
“You guys are acting as if you’ve never heard me talk before,” Arden’s voice sounded, her bird looking at everyone in complete bewilderment.
“Arden, you’re talking while in Phoenix form!” Warlord exclaimed, throwing his arms out to emphasize that she was still, in fact, fully shifted.
Arden looked down at her glowing, feathered talons and realized he was right—she hadn’t shifted back yet. The sheer shock of the revelation instantly snapped her out of her form. She shifted back to her human self, her eyes wide as saucers.
