“They want to do what?” Joel asked, his eyes wide in shock.
“My brother and Candy want to go out on a double date with us tonight. That’s if you’re free, of course,” Hera explained, swirling her fork around her breakfast plate.
“Yeah, I mean, I’m free,” Joel said, “but... You want our first date to be a double date?” Hera immediately pursed her lips, the realization hitting her like a splash of cold water.
“Uh…” She was completely speechless. In her excitement over late-night cracker sandwiches, she hadn’t thought of it that way at all. Now that he had put the question in that context, she immediately started to second-guess her decision to say yes to Candy and Poseidon. But it was far too late to take it back now.
