Thorn POV
Derek and I make our way back through the pack house. He intends to head back to the hospital and, as much as I would like to join him, I need to check on Vanessa. Even if she isn't my mate, she also isn't part of what has happened. I have no doubt her aunt or uncle or both orchestrated this. She will not only be hurt by the fact that she didn't truly find her mate, but the fact that her only family betrayed her for power. There is no other explanation for trying to force our mating.
