Morning came with Derek already on my mind. I dressed while Caius finished reading a message that had arrived from Zeron. We had spent enough time wondering what Derek might know. I wanted something we could act on.
"What did Zeron say?"
Caius folded the message.
"The warriors reached Greyhaven."
I looked at him.
"And?"
"They confirmed Derek entered the territory after his exile."
That was more than we'd known yesterday. Derek hadn't disappeared after Caius's men left him at the border. He had gone into Greyhaven and stayed there long enough for wolves to remember him. Now we needed to know where he went after that.
