I looked toward the mountain beyond the window. We had already walked through a cavern filled with Celestial names to reach this place. I thought that was what my mother's message had meant. Now she was telling me there was more.
"What are you protecting?"
Lyrienne stood from the table.
"Something that belongs to our kind."
I looked at Caius before standing. He was already watching my mother with interest. Zeron and Raith remained near the table. Neither interrupted.
"Show me."
Lyrienne looked at me.
"I was hoping you would ask."
She gathered several papers and placed them inside a wooden box. The records about Varen remained on the table for us to take later. Then she walked toward another door near the back of the home. I followed her.
The door opened onto a narrow path.
