I extend my hand across the table, and the man in front of me smiles.

We shake hands; the meeting had lasted more than three hours.
Three hours of numbers… Projections, new business… new investments.
Exactly the kind of things that have been occupying my life lately, and I was grateful for it.
Because keeping busy has always been easier than overthinking.
I pick up my phone from the table, my folder, my jacket. And I leave the meeting room.
My team follows behind me as we walk through the building; we're in Chicago.
I've been here for several days wrapping up a major project, and I'm considering moving here permanently. And if everything goes well, starting a new company.
