Luke’s POV
I got scared once Tammy said she wasn’t going back to prison. Cade stood close to the wall behind me, and my gut told me to move, but I was scared to take a step. I didn’t want to get shot by the police. I can’t believe this is happening. This is a nightmare-worthy event. I had hoped they would have caught us when we crossed the fence. They let us get to the house's backdoor before they came out.
When I turned to look at Cade, I noticed that there was a woman inside the kitchen that looked like Addison. The scream of raw frustration that came from Tammy was like an injured animal. Raw emotion poured out of her as she suddenly twisted to take a shot at Addison. I couldn’t stop my feet from moving. I tackled her right as she was getting her arm up to shoot.
