Pip POV
I felt useless; both my hips were hurting. The left is the worst when I walk, compared to the right, most likely because of the slight dislocation. Dan had been with Skunk all afternoon, and Skunk was still smiling and chatting with Dan. It was good to see how happy Dan was around Skunk; the only other man he had allowed to have Dan on his lap, was Jip. Wrench had babysat often enough for him to be used to being around Jip. We reached the back door, and Skunk opened it and stepped aside for me to enter before following me in. Dan had already chosen a place to sit and was watching us as we entered.
"I will get us some plates and go sit with Dan." Skunk headed to the food table, returned with two huge plates, placed one in front of me, picked Dan up, sat him on his lap, then cut up
