Amelia’s POV
I knew rejecting Ian was something that I wanted and needed to do, but when the time came, I was nervous to be alone with him. With how possessive he had been in the past, I was worried to be alone with him.
Fortunately, Jake must have picked up the same impression from Ian, because when the time came for me to meet him, intending to reject him, Jake insisted on joining me.
I asked Ian to meet me in the park for a discussion. On the phone, he had insisted we were having a picnic and wasn’t willing to listen when I told him it was just a quick talk.
Now that we were here and he could see there was no picnic blanket or basket, and Jake was standing behind me, he seemed to finally understand. And that understanding made him angry.
